ABOUT ME
Whether I was eight years old, figuring out how to make my brother and my action figures live in a world full of my sister's Barbies that were twice their size, or more recently doing graphic design work, I've always felt the need to explore my creative side.
Enter 2015 and Hallmark.
I, for the life of me, couldn't understand why there were so many commercials for perfumes and jewelry airing around Christmas. It was only after my loving wife explained that Christmas was a huge season for romance, and there was an entire industry, complete with TV channels dedicated to it.
I watched my first Hallmark movie that year (On the Twelfth Day of Christmas) and was hooked. Where some rolled their eyes at the repeating tropes, I fell in love. After about my two hundredth movie, I realized some of them were based on novels, and that's when the creative itch started.
I attempted to write a short Christmas novel called A Five Ring Circus, that never made it out of my Google Drive. I then tried my hand at some middle school horror a la Goosebumps. Story after story and nothing clicked... until it did.
I apologize if you've read this far, expecting some sort of eye-opening, inspirational moment, but there really wasn't one. Second Screening was an idea that I started like any other, except I kept fleshing out more and more details, and eventually realized I had something that maybe, just maybe could leave my Google Drive.
And so here I am, a one-man-band mapping a Character bible out in flow charts, doodling maps and cover art in Adobe Illustrator, and writing my world, bringing these characters to life.
